I am enjoying my time here at the Dublin Wellness Centre because they are allowing me to do the hands on work and allowing me to fully emerge myself in the business.

Three full weeks at the Dublin Wellness Centre and the time is flying by. I have been keeping busy during my time here by doing hands on work. The past week I have learned a lot by being here two days a week. On Monday I was able to go sit down with Rachel at “The Well” and have a cup of coffee and a pastry. The Well is a really nice cafe/restaurant just around the corner from the Centre, I highly recommend it! Rachael taught me how they run their website on the back end, and showed me various things for example: how to upload workshops information, crop images, write and place biographies of the yoga and pilates teachers. Rachael then let me upload a workshop on my own. By her allowing me to do this on my own, it actually makes me comprehend and learn the work instead of watching. This is why I am enjoying my time here at the Dublin Wellness Centre because they are allowing me to do the hands on work and allowing me to fully emerge myself in the business.

After the delicious coffee and pastry we made our way back to the Centre where I got to learn how to use an app called Canva. Canva is a great app to use for creating professional instagram posts and stories. Rachael showed me the basics and then told me the information we need for a new instagram story. I got to create and write my own Instagram story slides for the Centre and it was pretty exciting I thought because I have never done that before. Being able to do this work for the business is a great experience because I have been taking classes at my college that teach me about what I am supposed to do, but now I am able to apply the information from those classes and see what it will be like in my work field.

Friday morning I was greeted by Sinead’s delicious jelly filled donuts. I am convinced that Ireland has the best donuts because out of the multiple donut shops I have tried they have all exceeded my expectation! On Friday I kept busy by organizing teacher profiles and pictures, contact info, and biographies. I then was able to create another instagram story for their upcoming yoga and pilates classes. I really enjoy creating instagram stories for the Centre because I like to be creative, and them allowing me to create those stories allows me to do just that! Overall, I am learning so much by being here a short amount of time and very grateful for the opportunities that they have given me thus far.
