Shamanic practitioners work in the realm of the spirits. They call on these spirits to help restore portions of the soul. Our spiritual force fields, shamans believe, become damaged as we go through life. A person that suffers a traumatic experience may lose some of his or her soul, causing power to weaken, and the ability to ward away illness lessens. The spiritual skin, as it were, has some holes in it, making the person vulnerable. Shamanic Healing works to strengthen the parts of ourselves weakened by emotional strain, to heal and live a more fulfilling life.
The tools used during a Shamanic Healing session include guided meditation, breath work, journeying, ritual, aromatherapy, precious stone therapy, bodywork, soul retrieval, and sound therapy. Sound Therapy can include chanting and drumming, for instance, and tools can be used in combination of each other.
